Foundation for Indic Research Studies (FIRST) was conceived and established in 1965 by the vision and initiative of Late T.T.Sharma well known writer, freedom fighter and Gandhian.
He sought to create an institution which would conduct advanced research in multidisciplinary areas, and also serve as a forum that will bring together Researchers, Policy Makers, administrators and Decision makers from Organisations with Society concern and government, leaders in public affairs, eminent individuals in different walks of life, and the academic community in the field of Culture, Philosophy, Administration, Management, natural & social sciences, and the arts & humanities.
Dr. Upendra Shenoy, a well know Thinker and Social activist, immensely contributed to the growth and development of this Institute. Over a period of time, FIRST initiated several research programmes, Study groups and other activities like seminars, workshops, orientation to research courses that brought recognition and fame.
